Fall 2025: Community Based Grant Nomination Form

Funding Opportunity Overview:

  • Community Based Grants support efforts that increase access, build awareness, and create opportunities for STEM career pathways and/or learning opportunities in Central and Northern New Mexico;
  • Available funds for Operations, Program/Projects, and/or Special Event Support;
  • Grants awarded in amounts up to $5,000;
  • One collaborative grant, up to $10,000, will be awarded to a collaborative effort between two partnering, charitable organizations.

  • Please respond to the prompts only with the information being requested.
  • We ask that all nominators submit a grant budget that supplements their use of funds narrative. A budget form sample is available here.
  • Please consider uploading additional files under the supplemental information section, if your nomination requires additional information.

We request nominated organizations that are K-12 schools apply with the support of a charitable organization that holds a current, active 501(c)3 status. The partner will serve both as a fiscal & a program partner. Please attach a one-page narrative describing the partnership between the nonprofit organization and school. We ask that you include the partnership's shared goals; key implementers; and how the partnership will advance the school, nonprofit organization, and impact/benefit the students. (Allowed format: .doc or .pdf only)

Collaborations (optional)

Respond ONLY if you are submitting a Community-Based Grant nomination in partnership with another organization. Collaborative partnerships must be between two nonprofit organizations that each hold active 501(c)(3) charitable status, or are under a fiscal sponsorship agreement that's been established at least 6 months prior to the nomination. Fiscal sponsorship must be with a charitable organization that holds active 501(c)(3) status. All collaborative requests will be reviewed and evaluated ONLY under the collaborative funding opportunity.

One collaborative grant award, up to $10,000, will be awarded to partnering organizations that most effectively describes the collaborative effort’s mutual benefits, organizational strengths, partnership sustainability, and desired beneficiary benefits. One collaborative grant will be awarded during the Fall 2025 cycle. If your organization is collaborating with another organization to implement this effort, please provide the following details in narrative format: (1) Describe the shared goals of the collaboration and how the partnership will advance each organization, respectively; (2) Describe each organization's strengths in relation to the partnership; (3) Describe how you anticipate the partnership will be sustained after the grant period; (4) Describe how your collaboration will mutually serve the constituents that each organization primarily supports.
