Spring 2024 Community Based Grantees

$42,250 in grants awarded to support STEM access efforts!

We’re pleased to announce the Spring 2024 Community Based Grant awardees. Nine organizations serving Central and Northern New Mexico have been awarded charitable grant awards to support efforts that increase access to STEM learning opportunities and exposure to career pathways. The Community Based Grant funding programs emphasizes a broader view of the Foundation hire-ready ready mission to advance initiatives via programmatic, operational, and/or special event support grants.

Please join The Encantado Foundation in congratulating the following organizations and their funded efforts:

  • Applied Dynamics Initiative: To support FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) fees and related expenses for high school students.
  • Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation: To install a new STEM Center at Belen Middle School, which includes STEM products, educational curriculum, training, and furniture–with a goal to serve 500+ students.
  • MathAmigos: To deliver professional development to early childhood educators focused on early math enrichment via a workshop program model.
  • Northern New Mexico College: To support stipends for local high school and college students and supplies to advance the design of a glove to aide patients with Parkinson’s disease.
  • R4 Creating: To support a free, community focused STEM Festival seeking to engage families and children in Rio Rancho during Labor Day weekend.
  • STEMarts Lab: To support the expansion of its signature Apprenticeship and Ambassador programs for girls and young adults, respectively, which includes stipend support and travel related costs.
  • Techqueria: To support TechFest 2024, focused on hosting the largest, free technology event in Albuquerque and engaging attendees with panels, breakout sessions, and industry networking.
  • Teeniors: To pilot and test its signature one-on-one teen and senior technology coaching program in Santa Fe.
  • True Kids 1: To support the organization’s anticipated growth into STEM education field via a planning grant.
